Organic Damascena Rose Oil
Product Description:
The Rose oil is produced from the Rosa Damascena petals from our plantations, which are the source for the best and the finest essential oil.
The flowering season depends on the weather
Harvesting
The rose bushes are about waist height making for easier picking. This is mostly done by the women and men from the villages around the plantations who are paid by weight picked. These bushes keep producing roses for a few weeks and so they are repicked almost every day.
The rose petals have to be get to the still a bit quicker than normal to prevent fermentation occurring.
Picking begins before the sun rises and stops around 9 A.M. Once picked, the roses are put into sacks which are then taken by trucks to the distillation plant. Upon arrival the sacks are quickly emptied into the stills.
Distillation
The rose oil is produced from the petals of Rosa Damascena by hydro–steam distillation. While the tank is pouring with hot water the rose petals have to be put inside. Proportion of water to rose petals is 3:1. The water is leaking till the rose petals get under the water and the flowers have to be stirring all the time. Steam is then introduced (not directly) to heat up the mixture. With the becoming of distillate began direct steam introduction to mix the rose petals.
When the temperature reach the point of distillation, the water begin to boil and the essential oil begin intensive vaporization.
The got mixture of steam got into a liquid by the cooler. The oil (as a lighter) emerges on the surface of the water.
The cooled distillate passes trough the Florentin dish where the essential oil is separating and the distillate is going to the distillate tank.
A part from the essential oil left into the distillate. It has to be made an additional revision of the distillate (Cohobation). It is made in Cohobating column. The principle of separating oil is the same.
For producing rose oil are used only rose petals and water and there are used no chemicals substances.
The rose oil is stored away carefully in a stainless bottles (tank) at temperature between 18 and 20 degrees.
